What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Wecall Inc.?
Job Summary:
The primary objective of the material handler is to organize all material coming into and out of Wecall. This includes loading and unloading trucks, inspecting and labeling incoming material, distributing material to the appropriate workstations, packaging parts for shipment, and maintaining inventory levels in the warehouse. To perform these tasks, the material handler will need to operate an overhead crane and a forklift. Additionally, the material handler is expected to treat others with respect and have a team player attitude.
Job Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks upon arrival
- Inspect and label incoming material
- Ensure workstations have material for current jobs as soon as the material is available
- Package parts for shipment, which may include constructing crates
- Maintain organized and efficient storage of material and parts in the warehouse
- Communicate with the office manager and shop manager to ensure status of material is known
- Finish jobs in a timely manner
Qualifications:
Applicants will need to be able to operate an overhead gantry crane and a forklift. Applicants must also be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Experience securing material in a pickup bed, using standard power tools, such as drills and saws, or packaging orders for shipping are helpful. Applicants will need to be able to perform basic math calculations and fraction conversion.
