Summary/Purpose:
This is a fully automated bagging line. This machine is operated by a 1–2-man crew that assists in the bagging process. This position involves monitoring the automated machine for malfunctions, addressing or reporting the malfunction depending on severity, checking end product for quality control purposes, and providing clean up duties during changing of product.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain an understanding of the production schedule for each shift and how it influences the work to be done.
- Understand and prepare for the specific packaging to be used according to the production schedule.
- Understand the packaging equipment being used and how to adjust when needed.
- Identify packaging defects quickly and perform adjustments immediately.
- Works closely with Maintenance crew to ensure proper maintenance and adjustments to bagging equipment.
- Manage packaging changeovers quickly and assures that the production line continues to run smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate production log.
- Clean production line when changing from one product to another.
- Perform proper Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures when trained to do so.
- Perform other duties as assigned by designated lead or supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Attention to detail.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Dependable and on time.
- Self-motivated.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for extended periods of time on a flat concrete surface
- Must be able to count production
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight repeatedly
- Occasional lifting of bags of material up to 70 pounds
- Ability to reach, squat, bend
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Wear PPE requirements as directed including over the ankle boots, safety glasses, hard hat, and hearing protection as required
Pay:
- Hourly, to be determined
- Step increases at 90 and 120 days
