What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drafter Intern position at Weeks Marine, Inc.?
Job Description:
Weeks Marine Dredging Division is offering paid internships for students majoring in engineering and construction. Interns will gain exposure to the fundamental activities performed within this industry.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Help draft technical documents and specifications.
- Engage with the fabrication, installation, and quality control of components and designs.
- Spend time in the field surveying equipment and assisting port engineers on various pieces of equipment
Qualifications:
- Successful candidates will be working toward their degree in one of the following majors:
Design and Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar technical fields
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, stoop and/or sit.
- Light lifting (Up to 20 lbs.) as needed
