What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Support Specialist position at Weidmuller?
SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
Support Weidmuller North American sales and market share by providing technical support, commercial application support, and training for customers using Weidmuller products. This is to include assisting in developing and providing services, sales tools, and training courses to maximize customer satisfaction and sales.
This is not an IT Network position- this is technical product support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functional
· Be a part of a support center that provides technical and application assistance to customers, distributors and field sales personnel to increase sales growth via phone, email, online chat, and teams.
· Provide troubleshooting capability combined with commercial sense to resolve customer application issues
· Serve as a resource to others for application knowledge and experiences
· Demonstrate strong competencies with the latest software tools to help provide customer application solutions.
· Focus on Weidmuller Standard products such as but not limited to Cabinet products (Terminals, Automated Tools, Marking Systems, Relays and Optocouplers, OVP), Standard Connectivity Products (includes PCB, Steady Tec, HDC, Passive Field Wiring, Passive SAI, and Marshalling and Cabling Solutions), Standard Active Products such as but not limited to Power Supplies, Analog Signal Conditioners, Wireless I/O and u-Remote.

· Facilitates resolution utilizing internal and group company support personnel including Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Quality Personnel
· Utilize multiple venues such as teams, team viewer to evaluate product service and application issues, as needed
· Assist in the tradeshow and demo process, developing application specific demos
· Develop application papers and training modules to grow a more knowledgeable internal and external sales organization
· Navigate company sales tools such as SAP, CRM, Service system and Quality system to facilitate sales, to communicate and resolve issues, and to generate overall data for continuous improvement.
Business
· Possess technical competence and commercial awareness of Weidmuller products and other industrial components and how they relate in the industrial automation marketplace
· Computer proficiency necessary
· Acquire a working understanding of Weidmüller's support organization and resources
· Responsible for notifying your direct supervisor, manager and/or a member of the Executive Staff of any risks associated with the Quality Management System.
Environmental, Safety, and Security
· Ensures thorough familiarity with and actively adheres to all Environmental and Safety and Security Policies and performs their duties in accordance with those policies.
· Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental and security regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, CFR 1910 OSHA) as well as Company policies and procedures.
· Responsible for notifying your direct supervisor, manager and/or a member of the Executive Staff of any risks associated with the Quality Management System.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology preferred, AS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with Controls System experience will be considered, or Licensed Journeyman/Journeywoman or Master Electrician with Controls System experience, will also be considered.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Industrial Controls products as they relate to machinery, wastewater, energy and process industries, such as but not limited to Analog and Digital Signaling, Power Supplies, Surge and Overvoltage Suppression, conventional wiring conventions, and how these products interact with other products utilized in Control Systems such as sensors, meters, PLC’s
· Good working knowledge of Ethernet and other fieldbus protocols
· Familiarity with various approvals and agencies regulating the industries Weidmuller serves, such as but not limited to IEC, UL, CSA, NEC, NFPA
· 5–7 years of industrial support experience with Industrial Control products and/or related applications and experience in leading people.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,000.00 per hour
