What are the responsibilities and job description for the ED Tech position at Weirton Medical Center?
ED Tech Will Be Responsible For:
-Greets patients and visitors in the Emergency Department and provides routine patient care in an efficient, safe and timely manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
-Takes direction from the nurse or physician to assure the highest degree of quality patient care.
-Performs routine tests such as phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, EKG’s.
-Starts IV lines and draws blood for laboratory as directed by Physician.
-Provides discharge instruction to patients and families under the direction of the RN.
What You Will Need:
High school graduate or GED equivalent. Successful completion of Paramedic training program. Current Paramedic certification or licensure equivalent required.
The capability of using good judgment in the care and transporting of all patients accordingly. CPR certification. CPI training. Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and successful completion of arrhythmia test. ACLS and PALS Pre-hospital EMS.
