Retail Store Manager - Calling All Dog Lovers!

Well Bred, a Heathy Pet Marketplace and Gentle Grooming Salon is looking for an experienced Store Manager for our store in Bernardsville NJ.

You will be managing the retail store and the grooming salon. You will also work in our other locations for training, training other employees, filling for other managers and other situations (all our locations are usually within half hour within each other with the farther being an hour).

Must love dogs or cats! Owning them gives you a better understanding our customers and their pet needs as well as recommend appropriate products.

You are an ideal candidate if you meet following criteria:

• You have proven experience in growing sales and business.
• You have an experience in consultative selling approach.
• You have an experience of managing a retail store or a restaurant (assistant manager experience is not sufficient).
• You are hands on manager and are a true leader who motivates, mentors and grow their employees. Must show by example.
• You are a "people person" who loves creating relationships
• You love friendly competition.
• You love dogs or cats and have a lot of experience with them.
• You stayed in your previous jobs min 2 years and are looking for a long term opportunity.

As a part of management team, you will also be asked to work in our other locations.

We are looking for a serious candidate who enjoys smaller business environment.

As a store manager, you will:

• Be responsible for growing sales and meeting sales growth goals, according to our strategy and using our sales techniques.
• Become a dog and cat product expert and canine .
• Be expected to learn about canine and feline nutrition and ideally become an expert in this subject.
• Provide outstanding customer service and making each customer feeling welcome and loving our store - that includes treating visiting dogs with treats :).
• Organize and participate in events for the store, and in the area (outreach marketing).
• Become a mentor and a trainer to our employees and helping them grow professionally.
• Assure they use our selling techniques and have proper product knowledge.
• Manage the store like it was your own business.
• Manage the retail employees and operations of your retail store, which including merchandising up to our standards, keeping your store clean , organized, and presentable, managing inventory, analyzing sales and inventory reports, making timely orders proposals, placing orders, receiving deliveries, requesting credits and paperwork filing and anything else that is required to manage your store properly
• Manage the grooming salon, groomers and grooming schedule in some of our locations.
• Work 45-48 hours a week on average (but up to 50 on a rare occasion, for which you will be adequately compensated).

You are expected to work 45 hours work week and that's how your pay is calculated. The pay depends on your experience, skills and hours you are willing to put in this job.

Our managers are a very important part of the business and their role is beyond managing the store and grooming.

Sales skills, customer service skills, attention to details, ability to follow the processes are required. Completed test skills are required before the interview.

You must be able to use your experience with dogs in this job when advicing on products and be able to interact with dogs in safe when trying products on them. If you have experience with cats in addition to dogs, it's even better.

Since you will be working on the floor, you must be able to stand on your feet for an entire shift (up to 9 hours) as well as lift 30lb bags of dog food.

You will be working on the computer to check out employees but also perform your on managerail tasks so computer skills are required (POS, basic Excel and Word).

Weekends are required (one or both weekend days depending on the business need).

All our managers are expected to work in other stores if there is a need for it. So you have to be able to commute to them if needed (the must further stores are 1 hour apart).

Previous retail management or restaurant management experience is required.
