What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe position at WellNow Urgent Care?
Works under the direction of a medical provider (physician, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner). The majority of the work will be assisting the provider by accompanying them at the bedside and documenti ng the patient encounter in the electronic medical record. Ensures adherence to scribe policies and procedures.

As a WellNow Medical Scribe you will be a vital part of the team and will work under the direction of a medical provider, assisting them in the exam room by documenting the patient encounter in the electronic medical record. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Accompanies the provider to the bedside
Accurately and thoroughly documents the patient medical history, physical exam, and procedures
Completes transcription as requested
Performs tasks to improve provider efficiency during the course of a shift
Assists with registering patients and cleaning rooms as requested
Maintains confidentiality with all patient information according to HIPAA laws
Basic understanding of medical terminology and general medical knowledge
Excellent listening and note-taking skills
Ability to apply written instructions and standardize work practices
Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 words per minute
Strong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling and verbal
Detail-oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Capable of working well on a team
Friendly and customer service oriented
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree is beneficial but not a requirement
At least 3 years prior scribe experience
Excellent leadership skills
Basic understanding of medical terminology and general medical knowledge.
