How you make a difference

The Psychiatric ARNP, under the supervision of the staff psychiatrist, assumes responsibility for the admission, continuing care, and discharge of patients. The position provides leadership to the multi-disciplinary treatment team and participates in performance improvement and other activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans and oversee ongoing care, including medication management.• Monitor patients' progress, conduct daily rounds, and document all services provided in the medical record.• Ensure timely completion of all required documentation, including discharge summaries and reports to the court.• Participate in departmental meetings, workgroups, and committees as assigned.• Adhere to facility policies and procedures regarding safety, abuse reporting, and alternatives to seclusion and restraint.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Advanced degree in nursing qualifying as an ARNP

Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Three (3) years of experience in clinical psychiatry.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current licensure in compliance with State statute as an ARNP
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred
  • DEA registration
