How you make a difference
As a Unit Coordinator, your role encompasses both administrative and professional responsibilities, involving the meticulous planning, direction, and execution of the treatment and recovery process for patients within the unit. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless coordination of patient care, fostering a supportive and efficient environment, and facilitating communication among healthcare staff to deliver optimal patient outcomes. Your dedication to overseeing the administrative and clinical aspects of the unit will be instrumental in promoting the well-being and recovery of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and support care delivery on an assigned unit, including staff task assignments and review of therapeutic activity documentation while taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure the therapeutic environment's safety by conducting daily unit rounds, validating safety checklists, and maintaining necessary supplies and patient care items.
- Manage resources, schedules, and communication among departments, patients, families, and visitors to facilitate effective service delivery at the unit level.
- Provide direct support, motivate staff, guide problem-solving, and promote constructive conflict resolution within the unit.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work under stress, while also carrying out any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Master’s degree in a Clinical Healthcare related area
Experience
- Five (5) years of experience in a psychiatric acute care setting with similar responsibilities.
- Correctional experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- LMSW, LPC, or similar licensure as required by Massachusetts.
- Current CPR Certification.
