Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Management Director Branch Banking Risk Operations and Supervision Control
This experienced, senior leader will play an integral role in leading a team responsible for ensuring effective execution in the frontline of the Corporate Self-Assurance Activities (SAA) and Issue Management Policies by Branch Banking and designated Branch Banking organizations, as well as any related standards or guidelines as provided by Consumer Banking Control to ensure consistency across the Branch Banking lines of business. Related responsibilities will also include executing monitoring routines as necessary, regulatory exam coordination, audit assistance, and ensuring line of business execution against Corporate Customer Remediation Policy requirements.
This leader will be expected to interface with and be a point of contact for the Branch Banking Control team, various senior business operations leaders in Regional and Branch Banking and their teams, and equivalents outside of Consumer Banking as needed.
The role will also interact and work cross-functionally with the various Consumer Banking Control Executive teams, Consumer Compliance and Operational Risk, Enterprise Testing (Independent Risk Management), and Wells Fargo Audit Services and external regulatory examiners as needed.

In this role, you will:
- Serve as a daily 'go-to' leader, SME, and consult for the Branch Banking Control Team and line of business leadership and partners on Issue Management, Self-Assurance, Audit/Exam Management activities.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant Consumer Banking Control Teams, Independent Risk Management, and Internal Audit teams as appropriate.
- Serve as liaison between the line of business and Consumer Banking Control Group Issue Management Team. Ensure effective issue management routines are in place within the line of business and operating effectively.
- Manage approval processes / Issue date extensions as required
- Ensure Issue pre-close / readiness review exercises are executed effectively and timely in accordance with Consumer Banking Control Issue Management Standards.
- Serve as a Branch Banking Control Team point of entry and escalation point for specific issues and issue management-related processes
- Risk Acceptance / Policy Exception facilitation - facilitate completion of documentation necessary to obtain risk acceptances and policy exceptions to Corporate Policies.
- Ensure execution against Customer Remediation and Redress Policies and related customer remediation requirements, as required
- Monitor regulatory MRA corrective action efforts
- Support report out and status updates on issues/MRAs/Customer remediations with LOB Executives, Consumer Control Executive, Branch Banking Control Leader and others as needed on specific issues.
- Serve as liaison between Consumer Banking Control Consumer Risk Operations Team, Branch Banking Control team and Line of business partners who perform SAAs
- Educate Front Line SAA owners on policy requirements and ensure LOB activities are in compliance with policy
- Recognize when SAAs are needed and serve as SME, advisor on the effective design and build of SAAs
- Ensure triggers for SAA build-out or revision are built into upstream Change Management processes and Issue Management processes
- Engage in or establish routines for ongoing SAA results review, monitor SAA activity reports/results, escalate defects or significant trends
- Provide roll-up reporting for leadership as required
- Liaise with Consumer Banking Control Data Analytics and Reporting Team to ensure development and deployment of scheduled and recurring data analysis processes for Branch Banking Control, and as needed for business partners, to support the oversight and monitoring of regulatory and operational compliance
- Lead and execute effective Branch Banking Control monitoring activities as required
- Serve as liaison between Consumer Banking Control Regulatory Relations Team, Branch Banking Control team and line of business leadership and partners to coordinate and manage activities in support of regulator exams and inquiries.
- Review items and responses provided by the line of business for regulatory exams and audits to ensure quality, consistency and that they effectively meet the request.
- Accountable for reviewing and/or drafting corrective action responses raised in Supervisory Letters as required
- Actively engage in regulatory exams, Internal Audit reviews and those conducted by Independent Risk Management.

Required Qualifications, US:
- 8 years of Risk Management or Business Controls experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4 years of Management experience
- Proactive Leadership and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written with various levels of management including executives
- Ability to coalesce information from disparate sources into a clear and easy to understand communication
- Ability to distill complex concepts into simplified/targeted solutions and take swift action as a result
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and subject matter expertise to effectively solve high-profile issues/problems or escalated matters
