What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Advocate - Part Time position at Wellspring Inc?
Wellspring provides supportive housing and crisis stabilization to nearly 1000 adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Wellspring's guiding philosophy is our belief that people with mental illness do find recovery when they have a comfortable place to live, good social support, and meaningful activity such as school or work.
Job Skills / RequirementsThe Wellspring Supported Employment program is looking to hire a caring advocate to work with our clients in obtaining the employment opportunities of interest to them. The program utilizes the Dartmouth IPS (Individual Placement & Support) model. The Employment Advocate will work on a small team to develop person centered employment plans with clients, help clients job hunt, establish relationships with employers, and provide support to clients once employed. The Employment Advocate will work closely with Wellspring case managers and staff to identify candidates for the program.
Requirements:
-Good writing skills
-Good communication skills
-Enthusiasm for helping persons with disabilities find employment
-Ability to work on a team
-Good computer skills (Microsoft office)
-Experience with job coaching and/or mental illness services will be given preference
-A belief in recovery and opportunities for all people is a requirement
