TITLE: Equipment Salesperson
DEPARTMENT CLASSIFICATION: Agricultural Division / Wholegoods Sales
SUPERVISOR: Manager of Ag Wholegoods Department
FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
JOB AUTHORITY: Position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position incumbent must take direction from department manager and must coordinate activities with trucking and mechanic positions.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Position's primary responsibilities entail marketing and retail sales of agricultural and construction equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
(1) Responsibility for customer service of the retail wholegoods department to include:
a) Ensuring that walk-in customers are greeted and an inquiry as to their interest is made.
b) Telephone inquiries are handled in an effective, timely manner.
c) Requests for information received are handled in an efficient, effective and timely manner.
d) Problems or issues relating to the sale or lease of equipment are handled in an efficient, effective and timely manner.
e) Helping customers by running and operating wheel loader to load and unload
(2) Responsibility for preparing equipment to be offered for sale as follows:
a) Performs general maintenance check with mechanic.
b) Photographs equipment to be used in advertising.
c) Locates equipment in best location on lot, to ensure easy access and viewing.
d) Verifies pricing with entire department.
(3) Negotiates sales of wholegoods as follows:
a) Tactfully, negotiates terms with customer.
b) Writes order, including model number and other particulars concerning the equipment.
c) Accepts deposit and adds associated freight charges to invoice
d) Based upon make, model and size of equipment, determines method of delivery
(4) Maintains the department website as well as third party marketing websites (i.e. Tractor House).
(5) All other tasks as assigned by department manager
QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED AND DESIRED:
Required:
Qualified candidate must be able to function independently and as part of a team. Must interact in a positive way with managers, co-workers, customers and vendors. Qualified candidate must have a general knowledge of the products we sell, exceptional customer service skills, general mechanical ability to assist with repairs and computer skills. Must possess valid driver’s license. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Desired:
Ability to operate a variety of agricultural and related equipment, and understand the mechanics associated with agricultural equipment. Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Agricultural and/or Business. Successful work history in sales field. Prior successful training or employment in the Agricultural Equipment Sales Industry.
MINIMUM STANDARD HOURS REQUIRED:
Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Compensated lunch break)
Saturday 7:30 AM - 12:00 Noon
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
