- Salary: $110,000 - $130,000, DOE
Job Duties:
The Finance Director (FD) is responsible for managing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with sound accounting and financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
- Develop and provide timely and accurate analyses of budgets, financial reports, and financial forecasts and trends for the company; monitor the company finances for trends, deficiencies, and variability.
- Monitor the company’s financial reports and position and determine ways to reduce costs.
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism, which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
- Assist in preparation and filing of the company tax returns, licensing, audits, and other financial obligations/requirements as needed.
- Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships; initiate and implement appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place. Evaluate areas of risk and communicate with Executive team, Management Team, and/or Board of Directors.
Team Functions:
- Provide oversight and management for the Accounting Department.
- Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the accounting discipline.
- Periodically evaluate the accounting structure and team plan for continual improvement of the accounting group's efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities (where possible) within the company.
Management / Leadership Functions:
- Evaluate and provide advice and recommendations on the impact of new programs/initiatives and strategies developed for the company.
- Assist the CFO in developing and implementing processes and procedures for the company to improve its operation and effectiveness.
- Assist the CFO in development of solutions to business challenges; provide strategic financial input on decision-making issues affecting the company.
- As appropriate and needed, provide key information related to the company finances and accounting to marketing and business development efforts, response to RFPs, and business diversification initiatives.
- Keep abreast of methodological or conceptual developments in the fields of accounting and finance; attend meetings, conferences, or training as needed.
- Establish and maintain credibility and relationships throughout the company and with the Executive Team, Board of Directors, Senior Management Team, and Department Managers as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
