What are the responsibilities and job description for the ABE/GED Instructor position at West Jackson CDC?
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with YouthBuild Program Manager to develop a comprehensive instructional plan and Curriculum for YouthBuild s GED program that accommodates the wide variety of learning styles, cultural backgrounds and educational needs of our students.
- Administer GED practice tests and other assessments to youth and young adults enrolled in the program.
- Manage the YouthBuild GED Classroom, facilitating 14 students at a time through instruction in a blended learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one and group tutoring and develop lessons plans towards GED completion, basic skills attainment, and preparation for college placement exams.
- Develop and implement a program to provide on-going educational support to YouthBuild alumni
- Develop and implement a plan to provide individual and small group instruction in construction math for 12 hours a month
- Track and enter student progress into a database and assist the Program Manager in tracking and reporting educational outcomes.
- Transport students in agency vehicles (vans) for field trips, educational activities and GED testing.
- Provide on-going curriculum development relevant to student s needs.
- Coordinate youth educational goals, schedules and responsibilities and reports to the YouthBuild Program Manager
