Qualifications
- Significant prior Safety and Compliance expertise to include organization, coordination, and performance of duties at a responsible level
- 2 years minimum experience as a safety manager
- Knowledge in the construction safety, workers compensation, and accident/incident investigations and reporting.
- Evidence of good oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and customers
- Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all team members dealings, negotiating for win-win outcomes
- Maintain a Valid and current driver's License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
Responsibilities
- Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements
- Management and maintenance of safety training and information, MSDS compliance, LOTO, CPR and First Aid etc.
- Advises management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions
- Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices
- Maintains safety files and records, such as workers compensation claims
- Prior Safety and Compliance expertise to include organization, coordination, and performance of duties at a responsible level
- Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs
- Review Customer Contract Safety Requirements and in cooperation with Operations staff, develop specific and work and compliance plans
- Attend Safety Training and recommend to Management and Operations specific training programs
- Oversight of Companywide Risk Profile and work with Management and Operations to develop risk reduction programs
- Identify and develop opportunities to increase safety
- Serves as a safety focal point coordinating communications with customers, consultants, and/or sub-contractors
- Oversee Driver safety and measurement processes
- Oversee employee-oriented safety programs
