Western Technologies Inc. has immediate opportunities for a Safety Coordinator in our Phoenix, AZ Office.
Qualifications
 

• Significant prior Safety and Compliance expertise to include organization, coordination, and performance of duties at a responsible level
• 2 years minimum experience as a safety manager
• Knowledge in the construction safety, workers compensation, and accident/incident investigations and reporting.
• Evidence of good oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
• Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and customers
• Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all team members dealings, negotiating for win-win outcomes
• Maintain a  Valid and current driver's License
• High School Diploma or Equivalent GED

Responsibilities
 

• Works with and through management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to assist in the achievement of profitability/productivity requirements
• Management and maintenance of safety training and information, MSDS compliance, LOTO, CPR and First Aid etc.
• Advises management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions
• Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices
• Maintains safety files and records, such as workers compensation claims
• Prior Safety and Compliance expertise to include organization, coordination, and performance of duties at a responsible level
• Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and diplomacy
• Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
• Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs
• Review Customer Contract Safety Requirements and in cooperation with Operations staff, develop specific and work and compliance plans
• Attend Safety Training and recommend to Management and Operations specific training programs
• Oversight of Companywide Risk Profile and work with Management and Operations to develop risk reduction programs
• Identify and develop opportunities to increase safety
• Serves as a safety focal point coordinating communications with customers, consultants, and/or sub-contractors
• Oversee Driver safety and measurement processes
• Oversee employee-oriented safety programs
