Westfield Public Schools seeks qualified applicants for the following anticipated vacancy:
REQUIREMENTS:
Under the direction of authorized administrators shall:
- Provide direct and consultative therapeutic and evaluative services for the diagnostic, preventative and interventive purposes in the school setting.
- Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments. Develop/assist with individual behavior management programs for students in the classroom setting.
- Provide program/individual staff consultation on design/implementation of BIPs.
- Provide program/individual staff consultation on development/implementation of Discrete Trials curriculum.
- Schedule and document provision of services to students, as outlined on IEPs Maintain daily intervention notes. Provide guidance for and indirect monitoring of staff entries in daily intervention notes.
- Knowledge of best practices and laws governing students with disabilities; skill in communicating assessment results both orally and in writing; interpersonal communication, consultation, and skills necessary to work effectively with students, parents, teachers and administrators.
- Provide support and training in the area of behavioral intervention.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
