What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper/Custodian position at Westmoreland Manor?
Westmoreland Manor is seeking applicants for a full-time Custodian at the rate of $16.70 per hour. The purpose of this position is to perform general housekeeping of Westmoreland Manor areas as directed. The shift for this position is variable, but mainly 7A-3P.
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Mops halls, dining rooms, restrooms, resident rooms, and other non-carpeted areas.
- Climbing a ladder to perform high dusting, taking down and putting up privacy cubicle curtains, valences when soiled.
- Dusts and mops stairwells and door frames, dusts rails in hallways, dusts lights and vending machines in café, etc.
- Cleans counters, windows and window seals, furniture, etc.
- Cleans glass doors and mirrors.
- Cleans elevators and elevator tracks.
- Vacuums carpeted areas.
- Buffs hallway floors. Strips and waxes floors as required, performed by floor care.
- Cleans carpets and shampooing as required, performed by floor care.
The successful candidate will possess:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year prior housekeeping/custodial experience required.
- Ability to do heavy lifting
- Ability to operate a variety of custodial equipment including but not limited to, floor stripper, buffer, and carpet scrubber
