What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Manager position at Westrock Coffee?
The Inventory Manager heads the distribution center operation's team that fulfills, and ships sales orders, organizes, and maintains inventory accuracy, and provides the Collins manufacturing plant with the packaging materials they need to meet their daily demands. Primary objectives are to meet customers' needs, both on time and in full, as well as support our production teams so that they can operate uninterruptedly. The inventory manager receives supervision and input daily from the Director of Supply Chain and on occasion from the VP of Operations.
Principal Job Duties:
- Oversee the accurate fulfillment of LTL and FTL sales orders based on the scheduled ship dates provided by transportation team.
- Monitor labor, space, and equipment capacity as sales demand grows. Keep leadership informed of additional needs that are on the horizon for budgeting and planning purposes.
- Inform critical team members of any extenuating circumstances that could cause service failures.
- Receive and review material deliveries from vendors for quality assurance and invoice accuracy.
- Coordinate and conduct regular inventory cycle count of both materials and finished goods.
- Process and put away all inbound inventory into appropriate bin locations within warehouse.
- Train warehouse associates on continuous process improvement.
- Troubleshoot all inventory handling issues, so that operations aren't slowed down.
- Ensure that the distribution center operation's team are trained properly and have established developmental plans.
- Ensure team is performing all duties in a safe, clean, and organized manner (work area, equipment, PPE).
- Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures to meet and exceed inventory requirements, champion continuous improvement activities within the department.
- Maintain positive and service-oriented work relationship with our customers, vendors, and internal operational business partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a relevant field and 2 years of professional level job related experience; OR 5 years of professional level job related experience.
- 2 years of experience operating within Oracle, SAP, or other prominent ERP system.
- 2 years of experience in managerial or leadership position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and persons outside of the organization.
- Ability to use basic math skills.
- Ability to lead people and get resolution
- Proficiency in Microsoft office tools, specifically Excel.
- Ability to lead team meetings and provide valuable input in upper management discussions.
- Familiarity with financial statements and terminology.
- Ability to operate both sit down forklifts and stand-up reach trucks.
- Familiarity with RF Smart, a warehouse management system (WMS) that attaches to Oracle's ERP system NetSuite. Other WMS software acceptable.
- Able to prioritize and balance multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced driven environment.
- Exceptional listening and analytical skills.
- Experience in developing people and processes.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate on forklifts for 6-8 hours a day when needed. Not a daily responsibility, but when the team is in need you will be expected to jump in and fill holes.
- Ability to work stretches of time in a warehouse that is not climate controlled. Roughly half of work is desk work in controlled environment while the other half is not.
- Ability to work extended hours, holidays, and weekends when needed.
