In this position, you will be pro-actively working to expand WGI’s presence, capabilities, and breadth of transportation planning and engineering services with TxDOT, cities, counties, toll agencies, and transit agencies within Texas and the adjoining states. You will be empowered to use your experience and relationships to market, win, deliver, and manage exciting projects including planning and design for conventional publicly bid projects and design-build. This position reports to the Texas Transportation Regional Manager.

Responsibilities
- Actively research, market, assemble teams and develop statements of qualification and proposals for a variety of transportation project types and clients
- Provide strategic planning for new markets, services, and relationship development with current and prospective clients and teaming partners
- Serve as principal in charge or project manager for the delivery of select projects
- Assist in identifying and recruiting strategic hires
- Oversee staff in a specific geographic area or with technical expertise in a discipline or project type
- Liaison with other WGI divisions
- Represent WGI in local and regional professional/industry organizations and at local/regional/national conferences
- Participate in the go/no-go decision process of RFPs and develop pre-advertisement marketing strategies
- Lead and/or participate in planning and strategy meetings for proposals, presentations, and other marketing sessions
- Provide QA/QC on select projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college or university
- Master’s Degree in the applicable field can count as 2-years of experience
- Demonstrated 15 or more years of progressively responsible experience in transportation
- DOT or other public agency transportation project technical or project management experience required
- Five or more years of supervisory experience leading an engineering team required
- High quality oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability/desire to lead a team of engineering staff to pursue, win and successfully deliver transportation projects
