Manage the flow of goods from the suppliers to the shelves while supervising the Produce department and staff. Exemplify customer service best practices and maintain excellent product knowledge. Help meet and exceed department goals for sales, margin, labor, and customer service.

Starting with a group of unpaid volunteers affectionately known as the turn-ups, Wheatsville has sought to provide access to quality, sustainable food sources and be the heart of the community from our early days on Guadalupe to our expansion on South Lamar in 2013. Qualifications
- Help in our mission to be the friendliest store in town
- Interview, hire and oversee on-the-job training for qualified Produce applicants
- Review payroll and maintain schedule hours for staff within department budget
- Keep staff informed of co-op news and changes in policies or procedures
- Handle any equipment issues, emergencies, customer issues, questions and complaints
- Oversee staff in proper customer service, stocking, cleaning, invoice procedures and handling of damaged goods and mis-picks
- Coordinate storage of items to be returned to suppliers and accurate records of slippage
- Meet and maintain health department standards
- Oversee staff in customer service, processing invoices, stocking, rotating, storage, slippage, and cleaning
- Previous management and or produce experience required
- This job requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50lbs and exposure to extreme heat and cold
- A FOOD MANAGER’S CERTIFICATE is required

Salary : $42,000 - $60,000
