Overview

Responsibilities

  • Managing ambiguity and provides leadership where business problem, program strategy, and any technology product solutions may not yet be defined. Delivers independently, with limited guidance.
  • Always consider the bigger picture (e.g., efficiency, availability, operability, scalability, business goals, customer experience, etc.) and balance it against the needs of engineering teams who have to build, maintain and extend features for the life of the technology.
  • Generally, works within a VP organization, influences large customer segments, technology decisions, external entity interaction, etc.
  • Owning a large program. Manages the lifecycle of complex initiatives. Unblocks teams and increases the speed of delivery. Negotiates resources and priorities. Learning to force multiply. Escalates effectively. Able to find a path forward in difficult situations. Makes trade-offs between short-term needs vs. long-term needs.
  • Managing projects with top-down oversight throughout the entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope and timeline using SDLC/Agile management and communication tools.
  • Developing comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  • Ensuring delivery needs and expectations are met (stellar story quality, prioritization, definition of done, etc.)
  • Lead and manage various scrum ceremonies and drive sprint planning and schedules to delivery successfully
  • Working with Product team to manage feature roadmap, be a voice in technical designs & feature development, deployment schedule and resources
  • Establishes standards around process and improves, streamlines, and/or eliminates excess process. Creates predictable process paths, continuously gather process improvements from various entities involved in execution
  • Monitoring project progress continuously and developing detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicating proactively with all involved personnel to identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Reviewing proposed modifications on projects plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
  • Knows how to assess engineering practices for testing, triage and maintenance and work with manager(s) to establish the right methods for effective project delivery.
  • Overseeing acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and assisting in finalizing agreements with vendors.

Actively mentors and develops others. Managing and reporting engineering teams time in harvest for budgeting concerns.

Qualifications

  • 9 years of Technical Project Management experience managing agile teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders such as management
  • Proven experience with Agile methodology, Jira, Azure DevOps, creating and managing sprints, features, dashboards, and queries
  • Ability to write SQL queries to collect data and drive fact-based discussions and negotiations
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master for development teams
  • Certified Scrum Master, SAFe certification is strongly preferred
  • Previous SaaS experience strongly preferred
  • Experience creating and fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Passion for technology and willingness to learn the product
