Summary
The Food Safety/HACCP Supervisor is responsible for driving food safety culture within the facility. The position will lead the food safety committee, assist with writing food safety related programs, and create food safety training. This person will be responsible for conducting internal audits for food safety, 3rd party, regulatory, and sanitation program and practices within the facility.
Education, Licensure and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Food Science or related field from a regionally accredited four-year College or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five years related experience and/or training preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create food safety training for all plant employees including, but not limited to specialized training for various CCP and prerequisite programs.
- Mentor quality and operations management team on food safety policies and issues as they arise.
- Assist on continuous improvement projects for food safety.
- Review and inspect any new plant equipment to ensure food safety and sanitation needs are met.
- Monitor updates to regulatory requirements to ensure the plant in compliance.
- Oversee verifications conducted on sanitation throughout the facility.
- Conduct a minimum of annual reviews on all HACCP plans and food safety related policies.
- Conduct internal audits to assure compliance to plant policies, USDA regulations, and 3rd party requirements.
- Lead the food safety committee, generate ideas to discuss, track audit findings and corrective actions.
- Track and improve GMP audit scores across the facility.
- Assist with external audits as needed.
