What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power BI Developer position at William Myers Group?
Your main duty is to convert data into meaningful insights through interactive and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI.
You will be responsible for Power BI development and administration, building data models and transforming data for Business Intelligence. You will also manage reports and dashboards through distribution of workspaces/apps and monitoring usage/data refreshes/security access.
This role requires strong business analytics and the ability to collaborate directly with various teams to improve processes and enhance reporting capabilities in an ever-changing business environment. Strong technical skills combined with business acumen is mandatory to translate business requirements into sound BI solutions. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who offers solutions. The individual will need to manage multiple priorities and keep stakeholders informed on progress.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Work with various stakeholders across the organization to create dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI
· Build reports that allow content and distribution to encompass total organization and drilldowns to specific entities as needed
· Maintain functionality and relevance of reports and problem solve as issues arise
· Design, publish and maintain Power BI data models with many interrelated tables connected
· Stay up to date around relevant reporting tools and help implement relevant tools where required
· Link Power BI with OTR’s ERP system (Syspro) for efficient and automated report generation
· Help translate business requirements into Power BI reporting requirements
· Work with users and team members at all levels to elevate existing reports and reporting capabilities and distribution
· Develop reports in PowerBI
REQUIREMENTS:
· 2 years’ experience in SQL development, data management, and report writing
· Expert understanding of Power BI
· Be able to write and execute DAX measures, queries, and functions in Power BI
· Ability to work very collaboratively in a team environment
· Be able to manage your time efficiently and work with little supervision
· 3 years designing and developing reports and dashboards in Power BI
· Strong SQL skills (complex queries on relational databases, stored procedures, automation)
· Strong Excel skills (experience migrating data from Excel to Power BI strongly preferred)
· Understand business requirements in BI context and convert data into meaningful insights
· Proficient in MS Office
· Read and write in the English language
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
