William Paterson University invites application for the part-time position of Office Assistant, Graduate Admissions.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Graduate Admissions the Project Employee, Graduate Admissions provides administrative support to the Graduate Admissions office by providing excellent customer service, timely, accurate, and relevant information to prospective and admitted students along with accurately processing data and drafting correspondence that supports the department to achieve its strategic goals and initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Maintains, updates and verifies records in SLATE, BANNER, BDMS, Parchment, WebAdmit, and Clearing House software systems, including but not limited to completing and/or student applications, and adding and removing files/materials.
- Communicates with prospective and accepted students in regards to incomplete/complete applications, provide registration deadline information. Includes but not limited to phone calls and emails bi-weekly.
- Serves as the point person for visitors, answers the telephone and provides answers to inquiries. Initiates correspondence to individuals to obtain supporting documentation ensuring applications are complete and correct.
- Verifies and tracks application information in various stages of preparation for review.
- Performs other duties as appropriate for the position.
Required qualifications
- Completion of thirty (30) semester hour credits at an accredited college or university.
- Minimum one year experience with data management and/or data integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard platforms.
- Ability to work effectively using online platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
Additional, preferred qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
