The Position
As a member of our team at HeinOnline, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assists with maintaining all aspects of the computer infrastructure including network, systems, security, hardware, software, and email. Assist with maintaining a server availability percentage of 99.999%.
- Implements and maintains security measures across the organization's IT systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and encryption tools, to protect against cyber threats such as malware, viruses, hacking attempts, and data breaches.
- Manages and maintains the IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network devices, ensuring they are properly configured, updated, and patched to address security vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.
- Develops and enforces security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's data and information assets. This includes defining user access controls, password policies, and data encryption standards.
- Monitors security logs and alerts to identify and investigate security incidents, anomalies, and potential threats.
- Conducts regular security audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls, identify gaps and vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements to strengthen the organization's security posture.
- Assists with projects relating to the network and system. Follows through on all necessary items and ensures the assigned items are completed in a timely manner and by the assigned due dates.
- Responds to assigned help desk requests. Ensures that requests are followed up on and completed in a timely manner and proper documentation is created. Provides training to end users as needed.
- Assists with administering the company's Microsoft 365 subscription, Windows servers and services, Linux servers and services, SAN, and switching.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
- 3 years working in an Enterprise Linux infrastructure
- 3 years working in networking including, firewalls, routing, access points, switches, VPNs
- Proficient in administering Microsoft 365 Environments
- Experience with visualization and storage infrastructure
- Experience with security concepts, tools, and implementing best practices
- Knowledge of PowerShell and Bash scripting
- Experience with on-prem and cloud storage infrastructures
- A CISSP/SSCP certificate is not required but helpful

$75,000-$100,000 depending on experience
