The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. - Maintains the safety of the Youth Assessment Center facility and residents, including routine security checks and searches
- Monitors for suicidal or combative residents and provides crisis intervention as required
- Completes accurate daily activity logs and records regarding resident behavior, actions, medications, and activities
- Coordinates, assigns, and/or provides for the daily needs of residents, such as meal service, laundry service, and medication administration
- Organizes and participates in daily recreation activities geared towards residents
- Schedules, assigns, and/or performs general housekeeping duties and supervises chores assigned to residents
- Administers disciplinary action to residents as established by policy
- Transports residents to court and other appointments as assigned
- Attends required trainings, including First Aid and CPR
- Assists with visitation arrangements and monitors resident telephone calls as needed
- Liaises with law enforcement, caseworkers, court personnel, medical providers, schools, parents, and outside agencies regarding resident matters
- Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, and regulations governing the delivery of services to at-risk youth and assists staff in monitoring for compliance
- Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code
:Education, Experience and License/Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver’s License or equivalent
Special Working Conditions:
- Must provide 24/7 emergency on-call assistance as needed
- Occasional extended shifts (up to 24 hours) based on department needs
- Potential exposure to chemical cleaners, infectious diseases, and violent or rude/irate persons
Compensation:
Compensation for this position starts at $20.34 and may vary depending on experience and training. Williams County offers a generous benefit package to all full time employees including paid sick and vacation leave, fully paid health/dental/vision insurance for single, single plus dependent, or family contracts, term life insurance, long-term disability insurance, supplemental insurance, fully funded retirement benefits to the ND Public Employee Retirement System (15.26%), and 11 paid holidays each year.
