THE POSITION:
This position is responsible for the daily management and oversight of the clinical staff of the Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee. Duties include creating clinic staff schedules, training new employees, tracking medical supply inventory and surge covering for busy clinics. Additional responsibilities include oversight of clinical staff productivity and compliance with policies. Other clinical duties as assigned.
Formal Education/Training:
Required medical certificate/license as a RMA, CMA, ATC, LPN or RN. Preferred experience in management of clinical staff in physician practice setting.
Workplace Experience:
At least one year of experience in a physician practice. Ability to problem solve and mentor clinical staff.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Strong computer skills, communication and presentation skills required. Demonstrate ability to self-direct, meet deadlines and support the administration of the Bone and Joint Institute.
Physical Environment:
Clinic setting.
Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate, in English, both orally and in writing and lift over 30 pounds. May require prolong standing and working up to eight hours on feet. Ability to travel as needed to orthopedic clinics outside of the main office.
Key Results:
1. Maintains daily oversite of clinic schedule. Adjust and float clinical staff daily to accommodate surge scheduling in clinic.
2. Facilitates staff development, assists with the orientation and training of new personnel and ongoing educational programs.
3. Acts as liaison to support clinical care responding to assistance needed from staff and assisting physicians as requested.
4. Promotes patient safety and ensures quality care through rounding, identifying issues, and process improvement activities.
5. Assists with ordering and inventory of clinical supplies.
6. Responds to patient complaints in a timely manner.
7. Works in coordination with Clinical Director to coach and mentor clinic staff that are underperforming.
8. Works as needed in other areas to cover vacation or absences.
9. Maintains accurate and appropriate payroll reporting and staff scheduling.
10. Improves performance with regard to patient/employee satisfaction scores.
11. Reports completely and accurately any incident that may warrant review by manager/physician.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by Clinical Director and independently seeks out job duties to further benefit patient service.
