Job Summary
The Cook’s role is to provide consistent execution of food quality at all times. Our cooks support the kitchen team in a fast-paced, high volume environment, whether it prepping our scratch kitchen recipes, or building each order, to ensure our kitchens delivers the best food in the industry! Our cooks must be focused, fast paced and determined to prepare the freshest, best quality food otherwise we don’t serve it.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Completes all assigned prep work and sets up cook’s station according to station diagram. Utilizes recipes every time a food item is being prepped
- Prepares menu items according to Recipes, Plate Presentations and Willie’s specifications
- Thorough knowledge of menu items
- Maintains product presentations, product quality and cook time standards
- Knows and follows Willie’s Grill & Icehouse operating policies
- To know and follow posted schedule and strict adherence to posted clock in/out times
- Adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
- Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- Washes work area tables, walls, refrigerator equipment, cooking equipment and floors
- Maintains friendly, helpful, positive attitude
- Maintains a clean and organized workstation
- Practices sanitary and safe food handling at all times
- Ensures proper use of all equipment and utensils
- Cleans and sanitizes the work area before, during and after shift
- Responds to any additional requests from our guests in a timely manner
- Assists other cooks, prep and dish in their tasks when necessary
- Assembles, maintains and breaks down dish machine
- Responsible for all cleaning duties outlined in the restaurant
- Completes assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects
- Carries out all other duties as assigned by management
- Attends all company meetings, training seminars as required
Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING/WORK EXPERIENCE
- 6 mos. to 2 years related experience preferred
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Food Handler’s Certificate as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to see, hear, read, and write. Verbal communication skills required
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
- Ability to work as a team to ensure guests are receiveing best food in the industry
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests, other employees and manager
- Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exposure to wet floors, noise and temperature extremes
- Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the entire shift and work in a restaurant environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
