Roofing Technician

The Roofing Technician, under general supervision, will work with a crew to complete all aspects of jobs assigned by the company including but not limited to installing, constructing, and repairing roofing systems. The Roofer must be able to work outside in a wide variety of weather conditions and be able to perform the physical demands required for day-to-day job duties which includes climbing, working at heights, lifting, bending, working on knees, working safely with chemicals, and using tools/equipment safely. Ultimately, the Roofer will maintain good working relationships with clients and other contractors while ensuring that all safety standards and procedures are strictly adhered to at all times. Must have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Follow all WRSM, OSHA and owner safety requirements.
• Installation of different types of roofing systems such as BUR, EPDM, Single-ply, coatings, and other forms of low-slope roofing systems.
• Safe operation of tools of the trade (hand tools, power tools etc.)
• Climbing and operating on ladders, able to handle at least 50 lbs.
• Effective communication with foremen, supervisors, other Willoughby employees, and subcontractors.
• Build roofs using proper materials, tools, and equipment.
• Lay out materials needed to complete the job.
• Clean-up work area after finishing the job.
• Repair or replace broken materials.
• Remove debris from roofs to place materials.
• Ensure roofs protect buildings from weather conditions, such as rain or snow
• Follow safety rules.
• Set up vapor barriers and vents.
• Install insulation.

Job Requirements:

• Commercial Roofing: All levels; at least 1 year preferred.
• Reliable form of transportation
• Osha 10 or Osha 30 Safety Training
• Must be able to provide valid photo identification and social security.
• Must be able to provide the proper credentials and pass extensive background check to be able to work on Military Installment Bases.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Experience:

• Commercial Roofing: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
