Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries at New Hanover Regional Medical Center for all providers for all off-site procedures
- Verify benefits for patients once scheduled for a procedure at NHRMC or SurgCare ONLY
- Obtain Prior Authorizations for procedures scheduled at NHRMC or SurgCare ONLY; all in house procedures are still to be sent to and handled by Wilmington Health Managed Care department
- Obtain Prior Authorizations for VLA procedures
- Review benefit information with the patients
- Calculate and collect payments for upcoming procedures done at NHRMC or SurgCare ONLY
- Set up appropriate payment plans for patient according to Wilmington Health’s policy as well as surgery department provider preferences
- Obtain all authorizations for VA patients including radiology, referrals and surgeries
- Serve as Davita Dialysis Coordinator for the department which entails:
- Scheduling dialysis patient appointments
- Serve as central contact for the department between 13 Davita locations and our clinical staff

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Full COVID 19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment for all position with Wilmington Health. Documentation is required prior to orientation.
Preferred:
- Experience with insurance benefits, authorizations and managed care
