We are currently seeking a Civil Construction Inspector with strong skills, an outstanding work ethic, and high-level of integrity to provide construction oversight on water and/or wastewater infrastructure public works projects. We are specifically seeking a Civil Construction Inspector for Water and Wastewater projects located on Whidbey Island, San Juan Island, Skagit County, and Whatcom County.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications and codes
- Coordinate in the field with clients, engineers, and contractors
- Measure and record pay quantities
- Prepare daily reports
- Review the Contractor's schedule
- Coordinate 3rd-party special material testing inspections
- Manage project photographic records
- Verification of field surveys
- Maintain field record drawings
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience .
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- Public works projects
- Installation of water and wastewater piping including fittings, appurtenances, etc. – Ductile Iron, PVC, and HDPE
- Installation of pumps and equipment.
- Construction of buildings including plumbing, HVAC, etc.
- Construction of concrete basins, slabs, and sidewalks.
- Installation of electrical equipment, wiring, and controls.
- General site construction work including excavation, backfill, grading, asphalt paving, sidewalks, landscape restoration, stormwater pollution and erosion control, etc.
- Certifications or experience with specialty inspections of steel, concrete, welding, coatings, and other aspects of infrastructure projects is a plus
- Abilities and familiarity with computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and email
- Excellent communication (written and verbal in English) and interpersonal skills with the ability to function as a productive team member.
Compensation: Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Daily stipend for expenses.
