Department Description: Wilson Health's Sleep Center helps individuals who may be suffering from sleep disorders by examining their sleep cycles to give doctors more information on how to help those patients. In 2005, the sleep center was moved and expanded. The center offers four large master suites with private baths and showers, all beautifully decorated to feel just like home, the Wilson Sleep Center is designed to ensure maximum comfort and privacy in order to get the most accurate and in-depth sleep study possible. The staff are clinically competent in adult and pediatric sleep medicine.
Job Summary: A Sleep Lab Lead Technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep lab lead technologist is able to perform the duties defined for a sleep technician and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. The sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to- day clinical operations, including scoring, generating and providing recorded sleep study information including the sleep study reports and interpretation templates for the medical director, communicating with the providers and /or medical director any problems or concerns with orders received, H&P, diagnosis codes, insurance denials, patient etc.
- Delivery of the Sleep study interpretation reports to the ordering provider.
- Delivery of required documentation to the DME providers.
- Follows the most current AASM guidelines.
- Conducts new staff training and coordinates educational in-services.
- Monitors staff performance, provides feedback for performance appraisals, performs competency testing with staff, and consults with the department manager on recruitment and hiring of technical staff.
- Act as the liaison for all scheduling, technical, work related issues and special equipment ordering needs within the Sleep Center.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an accredited education program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology OR Successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited education facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician.
- Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist(RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist(SDS) credential.
- Current BLS certification and successful completion of Rhythm Analysis Training
- Successful passing of exam within 1 year of A-STEP completion
