INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST
Location: Huntsville, AL
Role Summary:
The inventory control specialists will track inventory changes working alongside warehouse associates and site leadership. Their duties include oversight of inventory control where they keep detailed records of any changes in inventory or production and report changes to the proper department leadership. They inspect inventory and take note of any damage or potentially unsuitable products and return defective products back to the supplier or dispose of them according to company procedures. Records and maintains controls of all inventory items purchased and manufactured.
Scope of the Position:
The Inventory Control Specialist will work independently but collaborate with other teams. This position requires <10% travel.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities expected of this position include but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures.
- Responsible for the labeling and tagging and organizing inbound products.
- Receive and enter verification data for inventory.
- Unpack and perform quality and quantity checks on manufacturer.
- Validation of all inventories.
- Daily audits of outbound deliveries for accuracy.
- Properly label product locations.
- Adjust inventory in database as required.
- Must be flexible to accept work assignments in different areas as needed and required.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Certification to operate all required power equipment required to conduct physical counts.
- Monitor inventory levels.
- Develop Inventory Control procedures and programs.
- Devise ways to optimize inventory control processes and procedures.
- Establish and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Prepares reports for lost, damaged, surplus, or disposition of product.
- Monitors transfer of product across divisions in accordance with policy
- Perform routine audits on Inventory Control procedures and programs.
- Audit daily, weekly, monthly cycle counts

Position Qualifications:
- Ability to define team associate requirements and operational efficiencies.
- Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and strict attention to detail.
- Able to interface with diverse teams and collaborate to find resolutions.
- Knowledge of MS Office
- WMS and Bistrack experience desired.
- Proven history of developing, implementing, and monitoring Inventory Control procedures and programs.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred: Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Management or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years technical experience working with supply chain products including warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, order management systems, Inventory Control systems, and/or Enterprise Application Integration tools or relevant equivalent role. Epicor WMS and Bistrack experience desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs. occasionally without assistance or 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Regularly required to perform carrying, grasping, lifting, walking, standing, some bending/crouching, stooping, stretching, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.
