Head Swim Coach

Head Swim Team/Swim Lesson CoachHead Swim Coach at the Winchester Swim and Tennis Club for youth summer swim program for the 2022 season approximately June 20-August 5. Manage all operations of WSTC swim program including swim team practices/swim meets and swim lessons. Oversee and manage approximately 4 swim team assistant coaches and act as main program point of contact for management and members.This position requires daily interaction with WSTC management, swim staff, parents and participants. It involves mature handling of sensitive information, quick problem solving and managerial skills.

This position reports directly to the Director of Swim and indirectly to the General Manager. General Manager will be informed of swim programming for weekly Club communications.Ideal candidate will have competitive swimming experience, swim instruction experience and demonstrated ability to work with children ages 6 to 16. Prior swim team coaching experience and WSI certification required. Duties include: Pre-seasonManage swim team signupsRun pre-season swim team practices in June at least 2 evenings per weekHold parent information meetingFacilitate orders of team t-shirts, bathing suits, ribbons and trophiesTrain swim team staff and swim lesson staff Manage in swim lesson signups and programming design Attend and participate in Middlesex Swim League meetings and communicationsIn SeasonManage swim team and swim lesson programming which runs M-F between June 20-August 5.Run swim practices and swim lessons in the mornings M-FPlan afternoon swim team practices and train swim team staff to runParticipate (and host when necessary) in the Middlesex Swim League RelayCoordinate and run at least 5 swim meets in the Middlesex Swim League on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons 3-6 PM in June and JulySet swim team lineups for each swim meet email lineups to participants 48 hours prior to meetSource swim meet official/refereeRecruit/organize volunteersComplete/distribute ribbonsCoordinate and attend Swim League Championships, typically the last Saturday in July Plan and coordinate Swim Team events- Ice cream social, Tie-Dye T-shirts & Pizza Party, Swim Team Olympics, Swim Team Banquet (pizza, dessert & awards presented at end of season), and other team bonding events Compensation weekly salary commiserates with experienceDuration June and July 2022Approximately 25 hours per week during season
