Job description
Wingate Companies is looking for a new Leasing Agent to join our team! The Leasing Agent will interact directly with applicants and residents, leasing apartments, qualifying prospects, preparing lese documentation and complete move-in paperwork. The Leasing Agent also assists with the on-going relationship with the residents throughout their tenancy.
Duties include:
Generate new leases
Demonstrate technical selling skills to rent unit and obtain the required deposit(s)
Ensure resident applications, background checks, deposits and lease paperwork is completed in accordance with all legal requirements and company policies
Respond to internet leads and appointment requests
Generate traffic through company supported advertisements, internet sites
Prepare resident files
Preview property ready units prior to appointments
Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers
Answer prospective, resident, and customer inquiries which may include questions about the community, the company, lease details, and amenities
Create and track maintenance service orders, monitoring for completion
Rent collections
Run EIV reports
Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary
Essential Skills and Abilities:
Administrative Skills – General office duties, writing letters, answering phones, filing, preparing reports, interpreting policies and procedures, proficiency in office equipment
Analytical Skills – Knowledge of organizational and community policies and procedures. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve everyday issues. Strong attention to detail.
Communication/Language Skills – Ability to present and effectively communicate (written and oral) with all levels of employees, residents and prospects, outside agencies and manage large volumes of correspondence. Ability to compose and proofread documents. Ability to interpret HUD manuals.
