Compensations: College Credit available – This position is non-paid.
Status: Part-time seasonal
Start Date: April 2025 (flexible with academic schedule)
End Date: September 2025 (flexible with academic schedule)
Hours Expected to Work: 10:00am 4:00pm (non-Gamedays) | 1:00pm – end of game (Gamedays)
Job Description:
The Winston-Salem Dash are looking for a motivated intern for our merchandise/retail department. This intern will learn all merchandise and retail operations of a professional baseball team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in servicing our fans and delivering top quality products. By the end of the summer, this person will have learned various aspects of the sports business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate revenue for the Dash through the sale of merchandise
- Learn all aspects of Dash merchandise operations, including Shopify and stadium POS system
- Assist with visual merchandising of store and satellite merch locations
- Assist with receiving of merchandise, entering into POS system and maintaining proper storage
- Process monthly inventory counts, maintaining accurate online and in-store numbers
- Processing of phone and online orders daily
- Assist and develop marketing initiatives to maximize sales
- Will also work closely with the operations department during games
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be present for Dash games and special events to assist with gameday operations. Including non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience in retail is strongly preferred
Training:
All new hires in the Winston-Salem Merchandise department will be thoroughly trained in all job duties and responsibilities. You will receive training and skills needed to be successful with the Winston-Salem Dash or any other professional team.
