Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS) , Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) , Office of Caregiver Quality is recruiting for an LTE Incident Review Analyst. DQA is responsible for protecting and promoting the health, safety, and welfare of residents living in and being taken care of in health and residential care facilities.
This position offers the option to work remotely up to 3 days per week and is headquartered in the 1 W. Wilson Street office in downtown Madison. This schedule may vary based on training or operational need.

Position Summary
As the LTE Incident Review Analyst, you will have critical responsibility for analyzing reports from health care providers and the public alleging abuse and neglect of clients, and misappropriation of client property by healthcare personnel. You will process documents in the Misconduct Incident Reporting system, document rationales for triaging decisions, conduct follow-up inquiries, and make referrals. In addition, you will complete quality reviews of completed investigative reports and provide feedback and follow-up to investigative staff as needed. You will need independent judgement skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to a wide audience. This position is critical to ensure the safety of persons receiving care in a variety of Wisconsin healthcare setting and programs.
Salary Information
The starting salary is between $31.00 and $33.00, depending on qualifications. This is an LTE appointment and is limited to 1039 hours in a year.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Quality Assurance Program Specialist Senior and is in pay schedule and range 07/03.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All DQA employees are required to report their COVID vaccination status, whether they are vaccinated or not, and must provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment.
All appointees will be subject to DHS's flu-shot policy.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Experience reviewing and assessing information contained in documents, voicemails, and other communications.
- Experience using computer programs or databases to input data, conduct analysis and review reports.
- Experience reviewing information and consistently applying standards (e.g., policies, administrative rules, statutes, etc.) to aid decision making.
- Experience meeting strict deadlines.
In addition, well-qualified applicants may also have:
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Experience investigating or triaging reports of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation.
