What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Planner position at Wise Snacks?
This role is responsible for the coordination of the supply plan on the S&OP Process. Align supply initiatives, identify, and mitigate supply restrictions in the short and long term based on the demand forecast and collaboration.
Optimize operation plans to meet changing business needs by performing regular operations reviews to identify any issues/inconsistences.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Monthly and weekly responsibilities between Sales and Operations
- Receive the monthly unrestricted Demand plan
- Collaborate with all Supply parties to determine the monthly and weekly:
- Production needs
- Raw materials purchases
- Transportation needs
- Storage needs
- Labor needs
- Inventory needs (raw materials and finished goods)
- Identify and communicate restrictions and define mitigation strategies
- Prepare supply planning deck for the Supply Review Meeting (monthly and weekly)
- Support the Supply Review Meeting and Executive review.
- Implement and Consolidate Supply Planning KPIs as:
- Transportation cost
- UL
- Demand Cuts (Cases, USD)
Quarterly Long-Term Supply Planning
- Receive a 2 Yr demand forecast
- Identify Long Supply Restrictions and identify CAPEX needs to increase the required capacity
- Production
- Transportation
- Warehousing
- Prepares monthly Operations KPIs for VP of Operations.
- Perform analysis to improve the operation and capacities as required.
Monthly to Weekly Supply Planning alignment
- Translate the monthly S&OP restricted plan into a weekly operations plan seeking the optimization of the assets for the business of the following:
- Weekly Production needs and scheduling (MPS)
- Weekly Deployment plan (transportation) (DRP)
- Raw materials procurement plan (MRP)
- Weekly labor plan
- Present the weekly results of line capacities for decision making regarding overtime and order fulfillment.
- Adhering to methods to ensure the participation among the plant departments involved in the planning.
- Communicate to the organization the decision and guidelines made in the weekly and monthly meetings.
- Review with production managers the final S&OP to determine capacity and other production issues to executive the plan.
Maintaining the Master Data /S&OP File
- Participate in SKU rationalization projects.
- Updating the S&OP master data with New and Discontinued items.
- Communicate changes to the different areas.
Other Duties as requested by Executive Leadership
- Identify potential savings for the business.
- Help and participate in the implementation of projects
The Development and Tracking of KPI's to ensure improved efficiency
- Calculate Production Plan fulfillment KPI and communicate results to plant manager.
- Present weekly reviews of prior week's KPIs
- Collect monthly KPIs for Operations and Executive Monthly Meetings.
- Gathering weekly cuts to review along with the Monthly GSD Cuts.
- Tracking staled items for weekly and monthly review.
- Fill Rate and Perfect Orders this is compared from current and prior year.
- Weekly cuts for wise items and monthly cuts for the warehouse and Order entry GSD.
- Warehouse Capacities are presented to the team every week.
- Weekly review of KPI improvements with plant and warehouse managers.
- Perform analysis to reduce cost and improve the benefits of the company.
Responsible for managing finished good inventory level at the plant
- Review warehouse capacity every day to make ensure that we are not over capacity and also monitor our short-coded items, to ensure good rotation process is adhered to.
- Weekly overview of warehouse capacity and financial impact of lost sales due to poor rotation of products and find ways to improve it.
- Review inventory policies for Deep River and other made to order items to make sure we are incorporating those inventory levels into our production plans to meet customer needs.
- Identify and communicate potential issues that will lead to products being stale to warehouse mangers for review to avoid financial loss to the company.
- Define inventory policies for Finished goods according to the service level requirements.
- Define the coverage of the inventory according to sales history and forecast.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engneering, Logistics or Business Administration
- 2 years' experience in Supply Chain Operations Processes
- 1 year of experience in Supply Chain Planning Processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
Preferred:
- Basic Spanish Language Skills
