Job Description
The HR Generalist is an integral member of the HR and Operations team, providing support in a variety of functions. As our HR Generalist, you will be the first point of contact for recruiting, communicating and scheduling both internal and external candidates while ensuring the process is as efficient and effective as possible. You will be an active member of the HR Team, answering employee questions regarding policy and regulations and giving input on changes. Reporting to the Senior HR Generalist, you will be given the opportunity to improve your HR skills in all areas, such as Employee Satisfaction, Employee Relations, Training and Development, Benefits Administration, and Reporting and Compliance. Your ability to manage confidential information in line with all related regulations, while maintaining empathetic communication with our team, will be essential to your success in this role.
This role is ideal for someone who would like to expand their Human Resources knowledge from a Human-First perspective. This person should be exceptionally detail-oriented and exhibit initiative, dependability, agility, collaboration, and sound judgement.
*This is a hybrid role that will require intermittent onsite work*
Responsibilities
- Assists in the creation, administration, implementation, and maintenance, of HR related programs, systems, documentation, files, and processes, including compliance with all confidentiality and legal requirements
- Leads and coordinates the full cycle recruitment process, ensuring a uniform and positive candidate experience, up to and through onboarding
- Acts as the primary point of contact for employment-related inquiries from employees, supervisors, and applicants
- Acts as a support for employee growth and promotion path creation, assisting in the building of a cohesive framework for deep investment in our team
- Assists in the scheduling and coordination of staff events, including meetings, teambuilding events, and celebratory gatherings
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a streamlined and engaging experience that puts the employee first, and that all accounts are set up in the appropriate platforms
- Assists in managing employee leave cases, ADA accommodations, PTO, EIB, and out of state work, including tracking all appropriate stages Create and upkeep personnel folders and employee changes ensuring accurate and up to date information compliant with all applicable regulations
- Administers our health, wellness, and other supplementary benefits, including working with our finance team and broker to ensure billing is accurate
- Work with the Senior HR Generalist to standardize, build, and enforce processes and policies across the organization
- Bilingual Spanish Candidates Only: Occasionally acts as bilingual interpreter for sensitive conversations between HR and employees, and assists in translation of HR specific employee communication
Qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years experience as an HR Generalist in a startup, non-profit, or other heavily scaling organization
- Adaptable and tech-savvy, with experience working in and implementing ATS, HRIS, and Employee Engagement Platforms
- Experienced with maintaining fully electronic employee files on cloud-based systems, while ensuring legal compliance
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively and respectfully with people of diverse cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups
- Excels at calendar management with experience coordinating across multiple complex or conflicting calendars
- Process improvement mindset, with a focus on efficiency, prioritization, and time management
- Bilingual Spanish Candidates Only: Comfortable conveying complex written and spoken ideas and policies in both English and Spanish
Additional Information
Benefits: $67,750/annual, $69,000/annual for bilingual Spanish candidates. Full-Time, 40 hours/week. Exempt. Within Reach provides excellent benefits including fully paid medical coverage, vision and dental for employees and generous coverage for spouses, partners and dependents. Paid time off, monthly internet stipend, flexible work arrangements, matching retirement contributions are also offered.
Work Location: This role is primarily remote, with less than 10% in-person work at the Seattle office expected. All positions require access to reliable internet connection and the ability to work effectively in a remote setting. Applicants must be residents of Washington State and live in a comfortable distance from our home office.
