The Salvation Army Midland Division Camp Mihaska located in Bourbon, Missouri, is looking for someone to fill their Lead Cook position. This is a full-time position with starting pay of $14.00 an hour. Job Objective
This position is expected to perform all functions of a Camp cook. This includes but is not limited to ensuring efficient operation of the kitchen and dining area; preparation and serving of meals, and clean-up of kitchen and dining area.

Responsible for the overall operation of the food service. Provide oversight of daily kitchen operations and ensure efficient operation of food service areas. Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies and standards.
Essential Functions
- Provides oversight of daily kitchen / food storage operation.
- Assist FSD in food ordering, and departmental work orders / requisitions.
- Assist FSD in establishing and maintaining a cost control/inventory system.
- Assist FSD to make work assignments to kitchen staff and volunteers.
- Prepare and serve food.
- Comply with state health regulations in the operation of the kitchen, including maintenance of proper sanitation by wearing plastic gloves, hair nets, and aprons.
- Sanitize all cooking utensils.
- Ensure dining room is set up and tables and floors are clean before and after meals.
- Keep kitchen refrigerators, walk-in refrigerator, freezer, and all drawers and cabinets countertops, equipment and floors clean and organized at all times.
- Keep all foods in the refrigerators labeled with date and contents.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and two years cooking experience. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Able to comply with recipes, safety handling instructions and job description. Obtain and maintain a ServSafe certificate. Must have or obtain within the orientation period a valid food handling certificate. Able to prepare meals in large quantities. Valid driver’s license and pass TSA MVR check is a plus.
Physical and Working Conditions
Must be capable of performing the above essential duties. Capable of frequently lifting 25 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Will occasionally move 50 or more pounds using dolly/cart/truck. Most work will be indoors in a temperature control environment; however, in the kitchen it will get above 80 degrees at times and cold in the walk-in refrigerator/freezer.
