Job Description
The Procurement Lead is a member of a client dedicated procurement service delivery team responsible for conducting spot buys and competitive bids, responding to project status and policy queries, and connecting stakeholders with the right regional teams for sourcing project execution support as required. This role sits within the Procurement Operations/Spot Buy team and is responsible for managing requests for a specific region. A successful Procurement Lead will drive savings while ensuring quality, service, and timeline requirements are met.
This role interacts with senior members of the client’s organization, so the team member must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable participating in discussions across levels and cultures.
Key Responsibilities / Job Duties
· Execute quick turn sourcing projects based on the client’s sourcing process and spend guidelines
· Identify cost savings through negotiations and catalog enablement opportunities
· Partner with the regional category managers and sourcing teams to understand the category strategies that impact spot buy purchases and negotiations
· Work closely with the P2P team to ensure a seamless stakeholder experience from requisition entry through to PO creation (PO creation is out of scope for this role)
· Respond to process and policy queries accurately and promptly
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· General understanding of strategic sourcing methods and approaches with the ability to determine the appropriate strategy for each project
- Ability to learn and master client specific processes, terminology, business practices, systems, and unique requirements by various business groups
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
· Ability to draft simple contractual agreements using templates
· Attention to detail with an ability to maintain high accuracy when executing tasks
· Positive attitude and strong customer service orientation
· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
· Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools such Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
