Job Role:

Service and maintain all plant equipment in a timely and efficient manner. Provide technical support to production operators throughout the plant.

Job Responsibilities:       

  • Maintain a high sense of Food Safety responsibility at all times
  • Maintain a high sense of Safety responsibility at all times.
  • Responding and reacting to mechanical issues in the production environment in a timely and efficient manner. Completing maintenance projects, PM tasks and work orders as assigned.
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Electrical/ladder logic skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Understanding of electric motors, starters, switches, photo cells, etc.
  • PLC skills a plus
  • Familiarity with CMMS work order systems
  • Ability to write parts requests, complete work orders and write corrective work orders
  • Understanding of reading mechanical diagrams a must
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance
  • Food manufacturing background a plus with an understanding of FDA requirements
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) must be followed continually
  • Computer literacy a must
  • Cleaning of work area(s) required
  • Timely responses to production calls
  • Perform PM’s
  • Perform building inspections and routines
  • Communicate with other team members
  • Perform Lock-Out-Tag-Out when necessary and work safely at all times

Skills Needed:

  • Should be able to understand blueprints and drawings
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Must be able to make decisions
  • Should have a working knowledge of at least two of the following:Welding, Machining, Plumbing, Pipefitting, Electricity
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work around very strong magnets
  • Must be able to read and write English
