Overview
Reporting to Finance, the Payroll Coordinator will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s Weekly and Bi-Weekly payroll and back up where required; provide timely and accurate financial information; participate in daily data entry payroll processing.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily payroll operations
- Manages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Generates, sorts, and distributes payroll hours reports from Kronos for verification and adjustment by operations
- Reviews Kronos hours reports, prepares discrepancy reports, and follows up
- Verifies that all external timesheets and other data have been accurately input and downloads the information for payroll processing
- Creates Gross to Net Reconciliation on a per pay basis
- Prepares a variety of reports post payroll settlement for team leaders and managers to aid in the tracking of and verification of pay
- Assists in the resolution of Payroll related ticket inquires
- Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understand proper withholding tax on different types of payments
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Completes External Surveys (Statistics Canada, Service Canada)
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Experience with Workday payroll systems is an asset
- 1 to 3 yrs of experience processing Canadian payroll.
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices
- Working knowledge of Time and Attendance systems
- Strong knowledge of government regulations
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
- Excellent decision-making; problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail; strong organizational; multi-tasking; and prioritizing skills
- Advanced Excel, excellent computer skills
- Canadian Payroll Association PCP designation preferred or working towards
