What being a Trusted Advisor in the role of an In-House Consumer Real Estate Processor entails:
The Consumer Banker position is primarily responsible for managing and growing an assigned portfolio of retail customers consisting of basic to some complex relationships. The Consumer Banker provides extraordinary customer experiences in a variety of ways while cross-selling Bank’s products and services. Work is varied in nature with changing priorities. Requires proficient working knowledge of bank products and services while working under general supervision and in compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations.
Essential Functions (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)
- Interviews customers and prospects to acquire information and define financial needs; recommends and sells products to meet their financial needs and opens appropriate new accounts. Prepares new account documentation. Executes most cross-sell opportunities with established and prospective customers.
- Sells and redeems Certificates of Deposit.
- Opens and maintains Individual Retirement and Health Savings Accounts.
- Makes customer and prospect calls. Represents the Bank within the community through various civic and non-profit organizations to promote and develop new business.
- Accepts and processes telephone and wire transfers, stop payment requests and check orders. Closes accounts. Admits customers to safe deposit boxes. May open and maintain safe deposit accounts.
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding account information. Assists customer in balancing statement. May work with Reg E disputes.
- Provides customers with notary services, and other non-bank services. Refers customers with non-retail product needs to appropriate providers.
- May provide backup for Tellers during peak periods or staffing emergencies (see Teller job description).
- May respond to customer inquiries that are submitted through online banking emails.
Qualifications
Attributes and abilities we are looking for in a candidate:
- Working knowledge of all deposit, and banking concepts and regulations.
- Moderate computer skills with working knowledge of all deposit systems and applications.
- Basic accounting skills to perform balancing, reconciliation, reporting and analysis functions.
- Working knowledge of all bank products and services, policies and procedures.
- Trusted Advisor who delivers extraordinary customer experiences, increasing Wood and Huston’s value to customers by having the knowledge to provide solutions through products and services.
- Ability to explain majority of bank products and services in order to sell and cross-sell bank products and services and respond to customer inquiries.
- Good written, oral, interpersonal and negotiating skills with ability to recognize and respond to sales opportunities.
- Promotes a culture of pioneering by demonstrating initiative, seeking opportunities for personal development, improving efficiency, and streamlining of processes.

- At least 90 days in current position required.
