Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is seeking a Field Engineer to join the team in Edmonton.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of a Field Engineer will depend on the size and scope of the project. The on-site Field Engineer serves on behalf of the Company; and
- Addresses all technical information provided to and received from the commissioning teams.
- Acts as a liaison between the on-site Commissioning Lead team, the design engineer, vendor representatives, and Company technical representatives to resolve technical issu
- Resolve technical issues in a manner that minimizes impact to the baseline commissioning schedul
- The Field Engineer positions are filled by Company employees or commissioning resources.
Safety
- Shall report all Near Misses to the Team Lead within 24 hours.
- All safety procedures must be followed as per the commissioning procedu
- Shall attend/participate in daily safety meetings.
Quality
- Perform quality control inspections of completed work, as required.
- Assist in project team building.
- Support and facilitate a highly effective, collaborative environment with seamless, open communication with the tea
Budget
- Resolve technical issues in a manner that minimizes impact to baseline budge
Scheduling
- Coordinate with the appropriate discipline leads on activities affecting the contract administration operation.
- Resolve technical issues in a manner that minimizes impact to baseline schedule.
Commissioning Practices
- Assist commissioning team in interpreting design drawings, monitoring equipment installation, planning for delivery of construction materials and equipment, and ensuring the proper warehouse and storage exists to ensure warranty validity and environmental protection.

- Responsible for Area of Accountability on document controls for RFI’s, FCR’s, NCR’s.
- Able to respond on RFI’s, FCD’s, and NCR’s within the skillset abilities and consultation with project engineering.
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications for a Field Engineer are the following:
- A recognized degree in engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent years of experience; and
- Education in construction management and work experience leading to a basic understanding of the required technical knowledge.

Field Engineers must:
- Demonstrate leadership in a team-based environmen
- Have experience supervising, working with, and administering contractors.
Additionally, Field Engineers must have knowledge in the following:
