Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting for a Principal Pipeline Consultant to work on a contingency basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Design of onshore pipelines, Pipeline facilities and Field Developments.
Responsibilities include providing the following services:
- Pipeline route selection
- Pipeline basis of Design
- Mechanical design, i.e., wall thickness, stress analysis and expansion analysis
- Development of material take-offs
- Development of material specifications and data sheets
- Development of construction and inspection (NDT) specifications
- Preparation of Pipeline EPC scopes of work
- Input to EPC schedules and Cost Estimate
- Input into operations staff planning for transportation pipeline systems
- Engineering Degree
- Chartered engineer status preferred
- Experience as a Lead Engineer or Principal Engineer on major Pipeline Projects
- Experience with another international design firm (previous experience with Wood Group, AMEC or Foster Wheeler - advantageous)
- Experience as a pipeline network asset manager
- Preferred experience in an onshore pipeline environment within the Upstream and Midstream Industry
- Requires previous experience on the process/mechanical and civil design of onshore pipeline projects and the project execution strategies associated with pipeline procurement and construction
- Proven track record in FEED and detailed design experience.
- Experience using pipeline engineering and design software is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is required
- Experience in the development of material requisitions and construction scopes of work
- Able to conceive, develop and evaluate plans and criteria for solving unique and complex engineering challenges on pipeline networks.
- Demonstrated ability to assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering solutions
- Understands and helps others understand the future and potential impacts of new technology and technical capability
- Anticipates the impact of emerging technologies and makes adjustments to services accordingly
- Excellent communicator of technical information verbally and in written form
