Overview
The Store Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations, functions and financial performance of the Woodcraft Harrisburg Store. The Store Manager is expected to take ownership of daily record keeping, reporting, inventory, purchasing, proper sales procedures and employee oversight and relations. The Store Manager is also accountable for the overall appearance of the store, customer service, maintenance of merchandise and safety and security of the premises.
Duties of the Store Manager
Provide excellent customer relations and service by assisting customers efficiently and effectively. The Store Manager acts as the lead sales associate, handling customer complaints and escalated customer issues.
Assist the owners to recruit, hire and train new staff and assistant managers as needed.
Train store associates and assistant managers in all phases of store operations, as needed.
Assist the owners to maintain and oversee all aspects of inventory management including but not limited to: ordering and receiving merchandise, tracking inventory, reconciling Purchase Orders/Receiving Reports/Invoices, auditing and cycle counts.
Monitor cash controls, paid out and cash reconciliations. Investigate any significant variances.
Plan and post employee work schedules.
Assist with keeping any licenses and permits current.
Monitor store, equipment and display maintenance needs. Schedule and oversee repairs, as needed.
Assist the owners with advertising and marketing ideas and execution.
Assist the owners with monitoring store performance including operations, employee evaluations and sales. Assist with developing performance metrics for employees and overall store operations.
Assist, as needed, with creating and scheduling classes and seminars including recruiting competent instructors when necessary.
Assist the owners with merchandising products using Woodcraft/alternative techniques with appealing displays, signage and convenience.
Promote and project a positive environment with employees and customers.
Learn and understand the Point of Sale system including processing point of sale transactions and back office operations.
Oversee and monitor safety conditions ensuring equipment is operated safely and the overall facility is safe for employees and customers.
Assist the owners with conducting monthly staff meetings.
The Store Manager acts as an extension of the owners of the store as well as the Woodcraft brand. The Store Manager is expected to uphold the Woodcraft values, act in the best interest of the owners and treat both customers and employees with respect.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
