What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician-Emergency Dept-9am to 930pm-Part Time position at Wooster Community Hospital?
The Pharmacy Medication Reconciliation Technician (PMRT) is responsible for accurately collecting and entering current patient medications into the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) for utilization by the physician responsible for admitting and discharging the patient to and from the hospital.
The PMRT is responsible for relaying any issues that cannot be addressed to the pharmacist and/or physician.
The PMRT will also process discharge prescriptions from the ED and other areas using the Retail Pharmacy Computer System.
The PMRT may perform limited medication management and distribution functions under the direction of the pharmacist.
Reports to: Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Clinical Manager
Education: High School diploma or GED
License: State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy Technician Certification
Experience: 2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience; retail pharmacy technician experience preferred, but not required
Work Schedule: Two 12 hour shifts per week
Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of a computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 pounds), including boxes, equipment, unit-dose cassettes, and IV solutions and stooping or kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) is often necessary; must be able to physically operate the equipment used for the job
