What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clerk IV position at Worcester Recovery Ctr & Hosp?
Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital is seeking an experienced Clerk IV to provide administrative support to the WRCH Data Coordinator. The Clerk IV will work collaboratively with the Data Coordinator to provide administrative support including: quickly gathering and accurately processing data from a variety of sources; inputting data into a variety of programs such as Excel and Tableau and interfacing professionally and proficiently with all departments at WRCH . The Clerk IV will be responsible for supporting the Data Coordinator to ensure that data sets are complete, accurate and organized and that timelines are met.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with the Research Analyst III to provide data gathering/cleansing functions
- Provides general office support to the Research Analyst III
- Works with all departments within the facility as requested to carry out data gathering activities and support
- Reviews and corrects data reported from a variety of sources including to not limited to: EMR/Safety Learning System/EHS
- Integral member of the WRCH Compliance team and engages in Joint Commission, CMS reviews, performance improvement activities
- Enters data into a variety of platforms/databases including but not limited to Word, Excel, Tableau
- Takes minutes/notes at meetings
- Completes special projects
- Employees will treat all patients with dignity and respect - through interactions which affirm the individual’s needs and preferences and by optimally integrating the patient perspective into all facets of care.
Required Qualifications:
- Determine the proper format and procedure for assembling items of information
- Demonstrates a high attention to detail
- Organize data and assess for completeness
- Understand Performance Improvement metrics concepts
- Proficiently utilize Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access
- Complete assigned duties in a reasonable time frame and within prescribed deadlines
- Take accurate notes in meetings where there are 20 attendees
- Work accurately with names, numbers, codes and/or symbols
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the laws, rules, policies and procedures governing the Department of Mental Health and WRCH
- Knowledge of the types and uses of WRCH data
- Ability to proficiently utilize Tableau
- Precise knowledge of medical record documentation requirements (WRCH, Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA)
About Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH):
Located on over 100 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court ordered evaluations.
WRCH provides inpatient services to 290 adults, inclusive of a Deaf Inpatient Mental Health Service, and 30 adolescents on the ACCU.

Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office work, or (B) and equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below:

Salary : $48,776 - $64,682
