TITLE: Governance Secretary (Part-time, Non-Benefited)
SUPERVISOR: AUC Committee Chair
SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES: None
General Statement of Duties: The Governance Secretary will serve as the primary support person for the Chair of the All University Committee (AUC). They will coordinate with Chairs of standing committees including the University Curriculum Committee (UCC), Academic Policies Committee (APC), and Student Affairs Committee (SAC).
Responsibilities:

- (E) Provides clerical support to the AUC and its standing committees.

(E) Attends all committee meetings for purposes of maintaining minutes; distributes minutes accordingly.

(E) Schedules and makes arrangements for meetings; prepares and distributes meeting agendas.

(E) Acts as a liaison between AUC and committees.

(E) Follows up with faculty and community members after meetings,

(E) Maintains governance web site.

(E) Assists faculty and community members with creation and editing of proposals.

(E) Processes incoming proposals.

(E) Records committee votes and/or follow-up notes, and approvals by the President.

(E) Assists with governance software updates and ongoing maintenance.

(E) Performs special governance and curricular projects, as assigned.

(E) Proofreads catalog to ensure changes are reflected.

(E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.

(E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Significant demonstrated secretarial experience that includes duties similar to those in this description.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Superior customer service skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines; excellent organizational skills.

Self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and experience in higher education administration, including working with faculty committees and academic departments.

Executive level secretarial experience.
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Gmail.

Experience with software programs used at Worcester State, such as Colleague, WebAdvisor, and CourseLeaf.

Hours: 15 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour
This is a part-time, non-benefited, hourly position. Maximum hours per week are 18, and based upon university need.
